The Cumbrians travel to West London to take on the Bees this weekend, having the edge over their hosts in previous meetings. The Blues having won four of the ten previous games at Griffin Park, with the hosts winning just two.
The last time the two teams met at Brentford was back in February 1999 in the infamous Jimmy Glass 1999-2000 season where the sides shared the spoils courtesy of a 1-1 draw in a Division Three (fourth tier) match. All the action came just after the interval when Steve Finney gave Carlisle the lead in the 46th minute only for Billy Barr to equalise for the Bees sixty seconds later as he sliced an attempted clearance into his own net in front of a crowd of 3,674 spectators.
Carlisle's biggest win over the Bees surprisingly came on the road, the Blues winning 3-0 at Griffin Park in the 1979-80 season by virtue of goals from Tot Winstanley, Andrew Collins and James Hamilton in front of 6,130 spectators, United eventually finishing sixth in the old Division Three in that campaign. Brentford's best victory over the Blues was a 6-1 hammering in 1964-65, bizarrely enough it coming in the same season United won the Division Three title, Frank Large scoring Carlisle's consolation goal as 8,400 fans looked on.

Recent respective form guides
Brentford's poor home run has seen them win just one and draw two of their last six matches at Griffin Park. While the Bees have scored six goals, a massive 16 have been shipped in at the other end.
Carlisle's away form is none too clever either though, winning two of the last six games but losing the other four. While the Cumbrians have hit home six goals, a very worrying twelve have hit the back of the wrong net.
Brentford find themselves stuck right at the bottom of the division after winning only one League One match, 2-1 at home to Chesterfield, in their last 23 outings. Their 29 games have yielded only 22 points.
Carlisle's 39 points from 28 games sees them lie inside the top half of the table, in tenth position, eight points away from the play-off spots and eleven points above the relegation zone.
