Bury have an excellent home record, winning five and losing just one of their last six competitive games at Gigg Lane. These high scoring games have yielded a hefty total of eleven goals for the Shakers, with only four goals against. In complete contrast to Bury, Carlisle had a torrid time on their travels at the end of last season, seeing them win just one, draw two and lose three of their last six matches away from Brunton Park. While the Cumbrians have notched a reasonable goals in those games, a bumper ten have hit the back of the wrong net.
On the first day of the season last Saturday Bury picked up a good point on the road with a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield that sees them sitting in 11th in the League One table after one game. Carlisle meanwhile were on the wrong end of a 3-0 thumping at home to Notts County, United left propping up the division at present.
