The Blues welcome the Hatters to a wet and windy Cumbria tomorrow night looking to improve on a poor record of just three wins, four draws and three defeats against Luton at Brunton Park over the years.
The last time the two teams met in Carlisle was way back in August 2001 in the bottom tier of the Football League, as the Hatters ran out comfortable 2-0 winners in front of just 4,432 spectators inside Brunton Park. The Luton goals, on the opening day of the 2001-02 season, coming from John Hughes and Carl Griffiths.
Two of Carlisle's three wins at home to Luton came in the early 1970's in the old Division Two days, the victory in the 1973-74 season did little harm to Luton though as both sides were promoted into Division One at the end of the campaign. Meanwhile the 2-0 win for the Hatters at Brunton Park in 2001 is the best margin of victory in their three wins in Carlisle.

Recent respective form guides
Carlisle could not have a more impressive recent home form, having won each of the last six games, that run actually being 12 league victories in a row at Brunton Park. The high-scoring block of six matches have yielded a total of 11 goals for the Cumbrians, with just four goals against.
In complete contrast to United, Luton are having a torrid time on their travels, losing every single one of their last six matches played away from Kenilworth Road. While the the Hatters have scored only four goals, a horrendous 18 have hit the back of the wrong net.
Carlisle are just outside the automatic promotion places, in third, having taken 64 points from 34 games. Luton meanwhile are stuck down in the League One relegation zone, in 23rd, with a return of just 25 points from their 35 games thus far. If the ten points the Hatters were deducted for entering administration this season were given back however it would still see them down in the drop-zone, albeit only by two points.
