The Blues welcome the Lions to Cumbria tomorrow hoping to improve an a record that has seen them defeat Millwall in eleven of the twenty games contested between the two sides at Brunton Park.
The most recent encounter was almost exactly a year ago to the day with Millwall winning 2-1 over an entertaining 90 minutes. Alan Dunne opened the scoring for the visitors on 27 minutes, in front of 8,413 spectators, before that man Jermaine Beckford equalised on his Carlisle debut six minutes later.
The Lions retook the lead another six minutes on when Poul Hubertz netted, with, in a pulsating opening period, Chris Lumsdon then hitting the post for the Blues with a penalty shortly aferwards. United laid siege to the Millwall goal after the break but they couldn't find a leveller despite having two seemingly blatant spot-kick appeals turned down in an inept performance by referee Graham Laws, who coincidentally is officiating tomorrow's game as well.
Carlisle's biggest victory at home to Millwall over the years has twice been by a 4-0 scoreline. Once in the 1969-70 Division Two campaign (goalscorers - Chris Balderstone, William Brown, Bob Hatton and a Lions own goal, attendance - 6,214). The second time being in the 1979-80 season in Division Three (goalscorers - Phil Bonnyman, Stephen Hollickin, Peter Beardsley and Steven Ludlam, attendance - 4,687.
Meanwhile the Lions, who have won five times in twenty attempts at Brunton Park, see their best margin of victory as being 2-0 when the sides first met in Cumbria in the old Fourth Division in 1958-59. The visitors grabbing both goals in the opening period in front of a healthy attendance of 7,725 fans.

Recent respective form guides
Carlisle have played some tough opposition in their last six home games and have only picked up two wins from those matches, losing three and drawing the other one. Only four goals have been registered in this time with six hitting the back of the wrong net.
The away form of Millwall is pretty dire, managing a paltry two draws from their last six matches on the road. The Lions have conceded nine goals in these games and only hit two in reply, both of those coming in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Swansea.
Carlisle are fourth and in the League One play-off spots at the moment, having taken 15 points from their nine games played to date. Millwall on the other hand are stuck down in the relegation zone of the League One table with a return of just eight points from their nine games thus far that sees them sitting in 22nd place.
