Recent respective form guides
Preston will be hoping to improve on their poor recent home form, collecting just four draws and two defeats from their last six contests at Deepdale. While North End have scored only five goals in those games, a worringly large eight have been leaked at the other end. Carlisle's away form on the other hand is slightly less than average, picking up two good wins, and drawing one but losing three, from their last six matches on the road. The Cumbrians having scored six goals in these games, but conceded an alarming eight.
Preston's 30 points gained from their 21 games played sees them lie inside the top half of the League One table, in tenth position. Carlisle meanwhile, in seventh place, sit just outside the play-off positions in the division, picking up 33 points from their 21 matches contested to date.
