The Blues travel to South Yorkshire tomorrow looking to pick up their first ever win away to the Owls, Carlisle having drawn four and lost five of the nine games played between the two sides at Hillsborough over the years.
Last time out at Sheffield Wednesday for United was as far back as the 1983-84 season in the old Division Two. The Owls that early September afternoon winning 2-0 thanks to a Don O'Riordan own goal and a Gary Bannister strike in front of 14,544 supporters.
In slightly more recent times the two sides have faced each other twice at Brunton Park in the last 14 years in cup competitions, Carlisle though losing both games without scoring. Firstly, 2-0 in the FA Cup fourth round in 1996-97 and then secondly 3-0 in 2003-04 in the northern quarter-finals of the then LDV Vans Trophy.
