Footymad preview History of the Stevenage v Carlisle United fixture

With Stevenage's first season in the Football League being the 2010/11 campaign, Tuesday night's match at the Lamex Stadium will be the maiden game between the two sides at this level of football. The clubs locking horns though in the 2004/05 season in the Nationwide Conference, with Stevenage Borough as they were then winning 2-1 at what was formally known as Broadhall Way in early March 2005.

The Blues though gaining revenge at the Britannia Stadium in the play-off final when Murphy found the net again, this time in the 23rd minute with a header as 13,422 fans looked on, to seal a 1-0 win over the Borough and a return to the Football League for United at the first attempt.
