Carlisle play host to Swindon tomorrow afternoon holding the advantage on previous meetings between the two sides. Of the 17 games played at Brunton Park the Cumbrians have won eight times while Town have been victorious twice.
Last season in League One was desperately disappointing as in the third last game of the campaign United drew 1-1 at home to Town, a deflected injury-time leveller from Owain Tudur-Jones cancelling out a Michael Bridges strike for Carlisle in the eighth minute in front of 5,959 spectators.
United's biggest win at home to the Robins came in the old Division Two promotion campaign of 1973-74 when Carlisle thumped Town 5-1 at Brunton Park. Frank Clarke hammered home four goals, one from the penalty spot, while Joe Laidlaw scored the other as 6,544 fans looked on, Dave Syrett netting a consolation goal for the visitors.
As already mentioned Swindon have only won twice at Brunton Park in seventeen attempts, both of them coming in promotion campaigns for the Wiltshire outfit. The most recent was in 1995-96 in the third tier when they won 1-0 thanks to Ed Murray, while the victory for the Robins before that came in the old Third Division in 1986-87. United crashing to a 3-0 defeat, amazingly in front of only 2,082 spectators, the Town goals coming from Tim Parkin, Bryan Wade and a Mark Jones penalty.

Recent respective form guides
Carlisle have been playing quite well at home recently, winning three, drawing two, and losing just one of their last six games at Brunton Park. A very healthy total of twelve goals have been scored by the Cumbrians in those games, but a hefty eight have also been conceded.
Swindon meanwhile have quite a reasonable record on the road as of late, collecting two wins and three draws from their last six matches away from the County Ground. The games have constituted an excellent return of ten goals for the Robins, and just five against.
Carlisle find themselves struggling down in 18th position in the League One table having picked up 17 points from their 16 matches played so far. Swindon's 22 points from their 15 games contested to date sees them lie inside the top half of the table though, in 11th place.
