History of the Carlisle United v Yeovil Town fixture
Carlisle prepare to entertain Yeovil at Brunton Park tomorrow afternoon, with high hopes of improving on their excellent record against the opposition, having managed to conjure up a win from four of the only five games played. Last season in League One though it was a tight 1-0 win victory for the Cumbrians on a Tuesday night in mid-March thanks to a 66th minute goal from Adam Clayton as only 3,731 fans looked on inside Brunton Park.
In the 2008-09 League One campaign Carlisle thumped the Glovers 4-1 in late August 2008 after the visitors had taken the lead in front of 6,286 spectators through Gavin Tomlin on 16 minutes. United though fighting back to coast to a win through a Danny Graham hat-trick, the last goal of which came from the penalty spot, and Gary Madine.
The campaign before in League One United left it late to defeat Yeovil 2-1 in front of 6,483 spectators. The visitiors going 1-0 up through Marcus Stewart on 38 minutes before Peter Murphy with 13 minutes left, and then Scott Dobie in injury time ensured that the Blues managed to grab all three points.
In the 2006-07 campaign in League One a promotion chasing Yeovil side hammered Carlisle 4-1 in this fixture in front of 7,112 spectators. That despite things looking rosy for United as they led 1-0 at the break, thanks to a Joe Garner strike in the 43rd minute, and the Glovers had already had to use all their three substitutes due to injury.
In the classic game of two halves though, Yeovil raced to victory after the interval as Leon Best, on loan from Southampton at the time, put in a stellar performance for the visitors. Best scoring twice himself on 72 and 90 minutes having already set up Wayne Gray for a 49th minute leveller. Chris Cohen then putting the icing on the cake for the Glovers when he netted deep into injury time to make the final scoreline 4-1.
The only other match between the two sides at Brunton Park being a 2-0 win for Carlisle in Yeovil's first, and, what at the time was United's last, season in the Football League, that being the 2003-04 campaign. The Blues, with 5,455 fans looking on, claiming victory thanks to a goal either side of the break from Paul Simpson and Craig Farrell respectively.

FootyMad's prediction ...
It's been a relatively average show from Carlisle at home in recent games, and, though the Footymad panel cannot see a run starting here, we do think the Cumbrians will at least gain a draw........ No-score draw
