Loan trio refused permission
Carlisle will be without three loan players against Brentford as Max Ehmer, Ben Amos and Josh Morris have been refused permission to play in the FA Cup.
QPR central defender Ehmer, who extended his loan deal with Carlisle for another month this week, will force boss Graham Kavanagh into a reshuffle, with Danny Livesey, Pascal Chimbonda and midfielder Paul Thirlwell all providing him with alternative options.
Former Manchester City centre-half Courtney Meppen-Walter and on-loan Liverpool midfielder Craig Roddan could come into contention for their first appearances for the club.
Greg Fleming is expected to replace Manchester United keeper Amos, while midfielder Prince Buaben, David Amoo and Brad Potts are all pushing for recalls.
Brentford could be without Alan McCormack.
Midfielder McCormack, who has been playing at right-back recently, suffered a rib injury during last weekend's 1-0 win over Notts County.
If McCormack is ruled out Shaleum Logan will be in line for his first start in nearly two months.
Boss Uwe Rosler has no other injury concerns and could recall on-loan Fulham striker Marcello Trotta, after he was rested against County, and Chelsea loanee George Saville who came on as a second-half sub.
