Carlisle United have today extended the short-term deals for defenders Alexander McQueen and Kevin Wright.
The pair signed an initial one-month deal at the beginning of December and have continued to impress through their time with the club.
Manager Keith Curle said: “They’ve integrated very well and they’re both waiting for the opportunity to show us what they can really do. Kevin has made his Football League debut and he’s hungry for more.
“As we’ve said before, we know what Alex is about and he’s another who has got his head down and who is just waiting for his chance.
“We’re still in that development period whereby we’re looking at both of them to see if they’re going to be able to force their way into the team.
“They’re extremely hard workers, a pleasure to work with and they want to be part of what we’re doing. They give us good options so this period gives them another chance to stake their claim.”
McQueen, 21, is no stranger to Carlisle having made 26 appearances for the Cumbrians through his first season in the professional game last term.
He was offered a new deal by manager Keith Curle when the season drew to a close in May and returned to train with the club as a free agent in September, playing in a number of reserve fixtures as he looked to earn a new deal.
London-born McQueen came through the Tottenham youth ranks and appeared as a regular in the Development Squad at White Hart Lane. He was also included in the Europa League squad to face Benfica in March 2014.
The versatile player featured at left back and in central midfield with Spurs, but played most of the 2014/15 season as a right back.
Wright, also 21, joined Premier League giants Chelsea when he was 10-years old and worked his way through the youth ranks to earn his first professional deal in the summer of 2013.
He has made two appearances for United so far this term.
