Carlisle United will give vital game time to more of their first-team squad in a friendly at Sunderland this afternoon.
The Blues also expect to field a number of trialists in the behind-closed-doors game at the Black Cats’ training ground.
Manager Steven Pressley intends to take a further look at QPR striker Kingsley Eshun, who linked up with United last week.
The 19-year-old will be out to impress again after scoring in last week’s friendly win at Oldham.
Two other trialists, who also trained with the Cumbrians last week, could feature.
The game in the north-east should also provide midfielder Jason Kennedy with the opportunity to further build up his match fitness.
Asked about the trialists, manager Pressley said: “I expect all three [to play]. There might be an additional one but I will have to check on that. There will certainly be three.”
On the squad United would send to Jack Ross's League One opponents, Pressley added: “We’ll have some younger players, a couple of senior players and some trialists.
“It will be a good work-out for us.”
