"We'll see and look to see how many minutes most people have got so far. We're strong in certain areas but we have to improve from our last two run-outs - on Tuesday and Wednesday - with our possession of the ball and what we do with it. I was a little bit disappointed with the quality and we have work to do there.
"For the whole pre-season up to now though, we've defended well and we've got to continue doing that. We've got to be harder to beat and score against and now we'll see what Carlisle offer us. Greg (Abbott) might come here and look to play like they might do away from home in the league - how a lot of sides might do against us - but we'll see. It should be a good test for us whatever.
"Greg stayed with me for over two years when he first came to the club and we've stayed good friends since. I wish him well and hopefully things will go really well for him at Carlisle. He's been a good assistant, worked his way up through the ranks as youth boss at Leeds and then gone to Carlisle where he's earned the top job. He's a good football man, we speak regularly and I'm looking forward to seeing him again."
City are likely to field their strongest side possible tomorrow just seven days ahead of their League Two opener away to nouveau riche Notts County at Meadow Lane. One player is unlikely to feature for the Bantams though, that being centre-half Zesh Rehman who picked up a head injury in a 2-0 defeat at home to Barnsley last weekend.
Former Bradford midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson is seemingly unlikely to feature for United due to a back problem but along with Greg Abbott another City-Carlisle connection is that of former Blue Grant Smith. The Scot currently on trial with the Bantams although the latest line on him from the local press in that dour draw at Hyde was :
Grant Smith was given a further chance to try to impress Bantams boss Stuart McCall after receiving 90 minutes action. The former Carlisle midfielder kept things simple, but struggled to make an impression on proceedings. Smith did however show his versatility when switching to left back during the second half.
Tickets for the game tomorrow cost £10 for adults and £5 for senior citizens or juniors. Carlisle fans being housed in the East Stand (Midland Road) where entry will be on an unreserved basis.
