Chris PowellCharlton boss Chris Powell spoke to the official Addicks website ahead of his side's League One game against Carlisle at the Valley tomorrow, Powell looking for Charlton to start another unbeaten run after they lost their first league match, 1-0 at Stevenage, last Saturday :

"I think it's our first test of the season in terms of results. It's been a fantastic and fabulous run for everyone. We've now lost our record in the league and that was tough to take, but we move on. I moved on straight after the game and accepted what had happened had happened. We've got plenty of other games to correct it, starting with the game against Carlisle.

"It really is now up to us to get back to what we do best and do the things that got us the positive results we got in the first 12 games, and we will be looking do that on Saturday. We always knew it would be a tough game at Stevenage, and a physical game, I made the tactical change because I felt that was needed, and Leon (Cort) came in and did well, but we lost to a deflected goal.

"The last four goals we have conceded have been two deflections and two penalties, so that shows me that, in the main, we are doing things right defensively. But of course we have to keep on our guard and make sure we don't suffer any more deflections and penalties if we can prevent that.

"Neither side had many chances, and Bradley Wright-Phillips was just centimetres, never mind inches, wide, while their keeper made a fantastic save from Leon. It was always going to be one of those games which wasn't going to be pleasing on the eye, which was how it turned out. We played some football in spells, but Stevenage are very good at what they're good at. They're a tough proposition, but it's one game out of 13, and now we are on our 14th game and looking to start another run.

"Carlisle are a good footballing team, from what I've seen, and they will be quite buoyant after getting a good result at Yeovil on the road last weekend. I remember last season and that wasn't a good night for us. But it's a new season and a new group of players and we should be confident.

"We're top of the league and we're there for a reason. So my aim and my question to the boys is whether they want to stay there? The way they've trained this week, I can definitely see that that's what they are thinking. Everyone's fit, more or less, Dale (Stephens's) partner is expecting a baby, so he's on standby, but I'm lookng to choose the 11 players, and squad of 16, that I want to get three points."
