Harry ArterBournemouth midfielder Harry Arter spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's League One game against Carlisle at the Seward Stadium on Saturday afternoon, former Blues-loanee Arter first looking back on his one month loan spell at Brunton Park last season :

“Last year I enjoyed my time up there and I got on really well with the manager, it was really nice of him obviously to take me for a month based on not really playing much in League One before that. So, it was nice for him to give me a chance and I felt I did well while I was up there and he was pleased with me. It was something that I enjoyed and I think he enjoyed having me there, so it was a good experience.

“When I came back it gave me that lease of life again, when the gaffer (Lee Bradbury) first took over I wasn’t really involved and I wasn’t even really coming on as a substitute. So, I probably lost a bit of fitness and match sharpness and I went up there and definitely got that back. I came back and I played in a few games, important games before the end of the season, so it definitely gave me a new lease of life.

“We had one big loss (6-0 at Peterborough) when I was at Carlisle and we had a couple of wins and a couple of losses. The first game was a good experience playing against Brighton. I have definitely experienced the highs and lows of football, I went on and scored the equaliser in the 93rd minute and then they went up the other end and scored the winner, so that was definitely experiencing the highest high and then the lowest low. So, it was all experience and I feel that I gained a lot from that.

“I am not surprised one bit by how Carlisle are doing, the manager is a really good manager up there, he gets his team playing in a certain way and it is the right way in all fairness. He wants them to express themselves, he wants them to play football, all the lads respect him there and he is a top manager. They have got some really good players, I think they have strengthened a little bit in the summer, they have lost a couple but they have definitely signed some good players. The players that are already there are good young players, it is similar to here to be fair, they are young and eager to do well.

“I feel a lot better now personally,  a couple of weeks ago I had a car crash and I think my back got a bit damaged from that. So, Steve (Fletcher) and the gaffer (Lee Bradbury) decided that it wouldn’t be the best thing to play against Sheffield Wednesday, a few of my muscles had tightened up in my back so we left that one out. But, I have been seeing a chiropractor and it feels a lot better now.

“The season is coming to an end now and games might have taken their toll a little bit, but that is why we have got a big squad and that is probably why the gaffer didn’t want me to play against Sheffield Wednesday because we can’t probably afford to get anyone injured. We are going to need all the squad now for the next few games so if I am picked to play then I will definitely give it my best.”
