Saints goalkeeper Kelvin Davis spoke to his club's official website ahead of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final between Carlisle and Southampton at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, Davis having wanted to play in the stadium since his childhood :

"It's a boyhood dream. I can remember playing in the garden when the FA Cup final was on and I'd get my dad out at half time to play 'Wembley' outside, I'd get my mates over and that's how it was, we didn't call it anything else. I've got family and friends from all over coming to the game and it means a lot to them and for me to step foot out there and play a game of football, it's a dream.

"I remember the Torquay game in the first game we played this season in the competition, coming for a cross from a long throw and getting caught up with Wayne Thomas then the ball ending up in the back of the net to go 2-0 down. It was one of those rollercoaster nights where we managed to get ourselves back in it and fortunately I ended up saving a penalty to win us the game.

"But from the very first game, the team talk was centred on winning the game and that exactly how we felt about it. A lot of players have played their part to get us here. Paul Wotton scoring a winning penalty, Papa Waigo getting a couple of last gasp goals and Bart (Bartosz Bialkowski) saving some penalties as well so we've all done very well in this competition.

"In some respects it's going to be slightly different mentally, but a final's a final and you know they're going to be a hundred per cent up for it. We know that they've got players who can punish us like Ian Harte who has scored a lot of goals for them from the back, so they're going to put us under pressure and it's going to be a tough game. They're on a decent run themselves. They've got away from trouble gone up the league and look a strong outfit.

"We've had a lot of games this season and we've won a lot which feels good and to have a Wembley appearance as well means I can sit in my chair at home and think it was a good decision to stay. I'd be a very proud person to lift the trophy, but that's at the end of the ninety minutes, maybe longer, so I'm focused on preparing myself, and the team are focused on themselves for a final that we want to win."
