Latics boss Paul Dickov spoke to BBC Radio Manchester and his club's official website ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park this evening, Dickov pleased with Oldham's recent four match unbeaten run:
“The performances and results recently have been really pleasing, and the confidence in the group and the club at the minute is really high and we need to keep that going. It is really pleasing to see, regardless of what happens on the pitch we want to keep a good atmosphere at the club. A few weeks ago everybody was down and rightly so, but to be fair to the players to get the performances and match the results with it has given everybody a massive boost.
“We have seen ourselves that whenever a team is on a bad run it just takes one performance, one little bit of luck to turn it round and Carlisle will be hoping they do that. We had them watched on Saturday and although they lost the game 2-0 attacking-wise they were a threat. The reports we have had is that the game could have finished 5-5 or 6-6, so they are creating chances. Greg (Abbott) will be thinking the result is just around the corner and he will be hoping it is against us.
“But, we go up there with a lot of confidence, but we go up there respecting them because Greg is a good football man and he has got a good organised team there as well. It will be a tough game, the last two seasons when we have been up there they have been really entertaining games. At half-time in both games we were happy and think we were winning the game, then after the game Greg and his team feels as if it has been a victory coming back after being 2-0 down and 3-0 down.
“So, we know it is going to be a good game and we know it is going to be a tough game, but as I said, we are on a bit of a roll at the minute. The boys know that but they also know that we are going up there expecting a hard game. But, when you're winning games, you want the next game to come as quickly as it can. We know we've got good players with good attitudes and we want to keep our standards high. We didn't get too down when things weren't going our way and the one thing we won't do now is get carried away.”
