Exeter boss Paul Tisdale spoke to BBC Radio Devon and the Express & Echo ahead of his side's League One game against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow afternoon, the Grecians needing three points to have any chance of avoiding being relegated :
"There is nothing really other than we have to win our game, it is not really down to us is it, which is a shame because we would rather have it in our own hands, but we don't. It would be great if we could still be alive with a week to go, but I can't really affect anybody else's results. At this time of the year sometimes the results you think are going to end in a certain victory go the other way. So, I just don't know, it would be great to take it to the last week and that is what of course we are trying to do. That is our job, our job is to try to win the game.
"Both Carlisle and ourselves need to win so there is no point I suppose in having a cagey stalemate. But, as much as you think these things it doesn't always work that way, the tactics on the day, the type of game, it can often turn into a game that you weren't expecting. So, I don't know, we both need to win the game so I would imagine both teams will be going for it late in the game if it is a in drawn position.
"But, they are needing three points to get into that play-off position again, so I don't expect anything other than a really, really tough game. They are a good side, they are a really good side, they play good football, it is always a good surface up there and we are going to have be good with the ball at our feet and we are going to have to be able to defend very well. So, it is going to be a difficult game.
"I am confident though, I see no reason for us to be anything other than positive going into the game. But, it is a difficult opponent who are very, very motivated for the win. I think we have to go into this game and take those thoughts out of our mind and we have to play naturally. But, we have had a couple of very good performances at Brunton Park in the last couple of years so I'm quite comfortable about it.
"We have gone into the last three or four games wanting to play as well as we can and enjoy ourselves and I think we have done that. I'm thinking too that (Richard) Duffy, (Jonathan) Fortune and John O'Flynn will all be fit for Saturday, but the most important thing is we have had a settled back four and midfield in the last few games which have provided us with a platform to play good football."
