Reds chairman Wayne Bradley spoke to the official Alfreton website ahead of his side's FA Cup first round tie at home to Carlisle tomorrow, Bradley hoping for a special day at the Impact Arena :
"Days like these don't come around every year and FA Cup games like this are so very special to be a part of and watch. These are the days fans come and buy extra programmes and memorabilia to remember the game in years to come. We know we are obviously not going to win the FA Cup, but we will enjoy the game and we have earned the right to play in it.
"We face a real daunting task against Carlisle and all we can ask is that our team gives it's all in the hope a major cup shock can be achieved. There will be one somewhere on the day, let's hope it is at Alfreton. It is a nice distraction from the threat of relegation from the Blue Square Bet Premier and one for everyone at the club to enjoy."
In team news for Alfreton tomorrow they have had plenty of injuries and suspensions lately, but those problems are easing slightly for them now. Definitely out though are central defensive duo Aide Hawes (knee infection) and Matt Wilson (ankle ligaments), while maybe making a return to the matchday squad tomorrow could be fellow centre-back Leigh Franks following a slight hamstring strain and left-back Connor Franklin who has been out for almost a month with an ankle problem.
Meanwhile pacey England C international frontman Nathan Arnold may be forced quickly back into starting action despite lacking match fitness after breaking his foot away to Darlington in August, although the return of former Stoke frontman Jake Moult from a one-match suspension could see Arnold again feature on the substitutes bench for the second week in a row.
Loan-wise Reds boss Nicky Law has this week signed 24-year old central midfielder Anthony Church from Grimsby until the New Year while also, to the same time, extending the period of Peterborough-loanee goalkeeper Joe Day at the Impact Arena. Leaving the club after last week’s 4-1 defeat at Forest Green following the completion of their loan spells though are Burton striker James Ellison and Mansfield midfielder Lee Stevenson.
The referee for tomorrow's match is Eddie Ilderton from Shiremoor near Newcastle and he will be assisted down the lines by Mike Blackledge from Peterborough and Danny Gratton from Stone in Staffordshire. Meanwhile the fourth official is Paul Thompson from Chesterfield.
