" I didn't like the way we conceded the goal, so we'll look at it, talk about it, work on it, and try to be resilient at Carlisle and pick up some more points. Rest, rest, rest, rest now and travel like crazy. It's the most ridiculous fixture in the world, God knows who has pulled this one out of the hat. We've got a small squad, players that you are asking to play week in week out in this division because you don't carry big squads.
" Some of your older players - you're having to ask them to go from one end of the country to the other on a Bank Holiday, when there is traffic. Less than 48 hours after a vital game to go and play Carlisle is an absolute joke, I've never heard anything like it in my life, someone needs locking up. "
To ease the amount of travelling time involved in getting to Cumbria though the Cherries will fly from Southampton to Newcastle at 7am before getting a coach to a hotel near Brunton Park for their pre-match meal, Bond commenting to the Bournemouth Echo on the transport arrangements :
"We put it to the players a while ago and they said they would rather go on the Monday. It can be draining travelling such a long distance on a coach, especially straight after a game.
"We've managed to get a cracking deal with Flybe and the cost differential between flying up on the day and going up on Sunday and staying overnight is negligible. Obviously we've got a contingency plan in case the weather is inclement but hopefully everything should be okay. "
Meanwhile, Bournemouth's Aberdeen-born left-back Warren Cummings said to BBC Radio Dorset :
" We're in tomorrow morning, the lads who have played will probably just do a light jog, a stretch, an ice bath and maybe a little massage as well. The ones who didn't play will probably do a little bit more work but not too much I wouldn't have thought with a game the next day.
" Then we rest up, we're up very early on Monday morning for an early flight to get ourselves up there. There are no pros of it for me because I hate flying so that's not good. From a squad point of view though I think it's good because if we had to go to Carlisle on the bus we might even have had to leave tonight. Or if not, leave tomorrow and then you're sitting on the bus for probably seven hours on Bank Holiday weekend when there is probably a lot of traffic.
" It's especially worse after having a tough game like it was today, so it shortens the journey by probably a good five hours. You're legs will get a little bit more of a rest rather than just sitting and getting stiff on a coach. From that point of view we get up there a little bit early, the flight is probably a little bit earlier than we would have liked but we'll take it.
" Derek (Holmes) obviously did well for us when he was here, when he was called upon. I'm not sure if he's playing every week there, I don't know if he is but it will obviously be good to see him. We know hopefully how to contain him though if he does play and we'll be looking to get a result up there. "
In Cherries team news Marcus Browning (calf), Callum Hart (ankle), Steve Foley (back), Shaun Maher (foot) all missed the 1-1 draw at home to Bradford yesterday, while Shaun Cooper is definitely out of contention tomorrow due to a hamstring injury.
On the plus side for Bournemouth Neil Young (chest infection), Karl Broadhurst (back) and Plymouth loanee Luke Summerfield (ankle) all came back into the matchday sixteen against the Bantams. Some bad team news may have come out of that game though as Josh Walker (dead leg) was substituted late on and Josh Gowling was apparently limping in the closing stages of the match.
The referee for tomorrow's match is Kevin Friend from Leicester, and he will be assisted down the lines by Gary Hilton from Wigan and Mick McDonough from the Tyne and Wear area. Meanwhile the fourth official will be the well known Chris Brumwell from Carlisle.
