Phil Parkinson
Addicks boss Phil Parkinson spoke to the News Shopper ahead of his sides' League One game against Carlisle at the Valley tomorrow afternoon, Parkinson wanting his players to be mentally right on their promotion chasing run in to the end of the season :

" I think we've got to prepare ourselves mentally until the last minute of the last game. And if that's what it takes [to gain promotion] then we're prepared to do that. If we're still in with a shout come the Oldham game then that will be good for us. The Huddersfield result was a fantastic result for us last week and a very good performance and we followed that up at MK Dons.

" If you go to Huddersfield and MK Dons and come away with four points, you've got to be very pleased and it sets us up nicely for Monday. Obviously Leeds have had a very good season but they've had a dip recently and and their result on Saturday will be a crushing blow for them, but I'm focusing on Charlton.

" (Nicky) Bailey and Deon (Burton) didn't make it on Saturday and as I said last week, in any game without your two top scorers you're going to be slightly handicapped as they're good players. Hopefully we can use this period as a rest period for them and they'll come back refreshed to push us on for the last part of the season.

" I'd say Nicky's got more chance than Deon of making the Carlisle game but (Jose) Semedo and (Therry) Racon in the centre of midfield were immense on Saturday. They've got so much ability and I always think would I like to play against them as they never give you a second to relax on the ball. "

In team news for the Addicks tomorrow they will definitely be without the quartet of Grant Basey, Rob Elliot, Leon McKenzie and Kelly Youga. Goalkeeper Elliot sidelined with a groin injury that is taking longer to get over due to his need to be fit for long distance kicking, while left-back Grant Basey is out for the rest of the season after recently undergoing surgery on damaged ankle ligaments.

Another left-back in Kelly Youga recently returned to reserve team action after being out with a knee injury he picked up in November, Youga though suffered a bad reaction in that second-string comeback and has now returned to France to visit a specialist about the problem. Finally comes striker Leon McKenzie who, although still out, should be able to return to training soon following a torn thigh muscle.

Two other players are also rated as highly doubtful to take any part in tomorrow's game, the first of those being Addicks top scorer Deon Burton who is still being troubled by a knee problem. The other man suffering with an injury being Carlisle fans' favourite Nicky Bailey, the Charlton captain on the edge of being fit after being sidelined with a niggling ankle knock recently.

The referee for tomorrow afternoon's match is James Linington from Newport on the Isle of Wight, and he will be assisted down the lines by Ian Cooper from Rochester in Kent and John Magill from Colchester. Meanwhile the fourth official is also from Essex as it is Rob Whitton from Chelmsford.
