Town midfielder Nicky Adams spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow afternoon, Adams expecting a tough game:
“It is a tough place and it is a long, long way from here especially. It is a nice big pitch but Carlisle are a good side and it is going to be a tough game, but we are ready for it. Carlisle is a bit like Preston, a similar sort of pitch, a very big pitch, and we did well at Preston, as well as Doncaster, and our away form is really good. But, I just think if we can take those performances into Saturday then we will be fine.
“For most of the trip they just banter me off all the way up so it is not too bad and it goes quick for them. But, there are a few that have iPads and they just play different games and stuff and there are a few DVDs knocking around. It was really good to go up on Thursday with the length of the trip in terms of preparing for the game. If we had done it today and got stuck and been on the road for eight hours then it is not good for playing on a Saturday.
“We played against a top Premier League side on Tuesday in Swansea and they had a lot of great players, but we more than matched them. We were a bit disappointed, I think everyone was ready for extra-time then they sucker punched us really. It was disappointing but we have got to look forward to Saturday now because this is the main thing is the league.
“I just want to play all the time, everyone wants to play every game but it is not possible. I am just really enjoying it and every game I have played in I have enjoyed, apart from Saturday against Tranmere which was a bit of a setback, but these things happen and there will be more along the way. But, hopefully we can kick on again on Saturday and get a good result, and then we will take it from there.
“The support away from home has been brilliant, they have followed us everywhere, to be fair they are brilliant at home but away from home they have been first class as well. You always hear the drum which is good, and they really get behind us. We do appreciate it and they spend their well-earned money to go to places like Carlisle, which is a long trip for them and hopefully we can do the business for them on Saturday.”
In team news for the Red Devils tomorrow they don’t look to have any players definitely sidelined through either injury or suspension. Centre-half Shaun Cooper being back in training after missing two games with an abductor muscle problem, while fellow centre-back Kyle McFadzean could return to action after missing the Swansea game in midweek with a sore hip flexor. Finally meanwhile comes former Sheffield Wednesday central midfielder Mike Jones who returns to the Town squad having been cup-tied for that Capital One Cup 3-2 defeat against the Swans on Tuesday.
The referee for tomorrow afternoon’s match is Mark Heywood from Northwich in Cheshire and he will be assisted down the lines by Warren Broadbent from Sunderland and Scott Oldham from Blackpool. Meanwhile the fourth official is Shaun Hudson from Houghton-le-Spring, near Sunderland.
