Team News From The Crawley Camp

Town’s Crystal Palace-loanee Hiram Boateng spoke to the Crawley News ahead of his side’s League One game at home to Carlisle tomorrow, Boateng keen to get going after signing for the Red Devils two weeks ago:

“It's been a good few days training at Crawley but I was disappointed the game got called off last Saturday. I wasn't really surprised to hear I was going on loan, but I didn't know what club it would be. Tony Pulis told me I was going to Crawley on Thursday and I didn't know much about the club or the area but he said they were a team who try to play good football.

"I'm just hoping to get some game time and some experience, and hopefully help Crawley climb the table too. As a midfielder, I'm more of a holding player, a number eight or four. I'm a box-to-box player and I work hard for the team. League One will be a different challenge for me; it will be physical than I'm used to but I'm expecting that. I need to adapt to that by using my brain to be one step ahead of the opposition."

18-year old Boateng is one of three Crawley players set to make his matchday squad debut after signing for Town on loan on January transfer deadline day, Boateng joining from Crystal Palace alongside team-mate and striker Sullay Kaikai. The other loanee signed for the Sussex outfit that day being goalkeeper Ross Atkins from Derby County. Meanwhile, one player who has returned to a now fully-fit Crawley squad after their enforced three weeks off is central midfielder Dannie Bulman who suffered a fractured cheekbone on Boxing Day.

The referee for tomorrow's match is Rob Lewis from Shrewsbury and he will be assisted down the lines by Craig Hicks from Sutton in Surrey and Barry Holderness from Billericay in Essex. Meanwhile the fourth official is Carl Fitch from Ipswich.
