"It will be the games against the sides at the bottom of the league, like Cheltenham and Port Vale, which will be decisive for us I feel. They are the ones we need to win, otherwise all the good work we've done in recent weeks against Orient and Leeds will count for nothing.
"But if we get three points tonight, we know we are out of that relegation zone. When you are fourth-from-bottom, they are all going to be tough games, but the good thing is we are high on confidence. We have set the standard at Leeds and that is what we need to reproduce if we are going to get out of the relegation zone.
"We knew what Kenny (Lunt) was all about and he showed that on Saturday. We have said all along we have a decent team and I think we showed we were at Leeds. But we must not think we are safe yet because there are still 13 games remaining and they are all going to be massive for us.
"We know Carlisle are a good team. Their striker, (Joe) Garner, has scored 14 or 15 goals. But we have shown we can get results against the top teams in this league, although we must forget Leeds now and it is back to a wet and windy Tuesday night at Gresty Road."
In team news for the Railwaymen George Abbey (shin) and Ipswich-loanee winger Gary Roberts (calf) are expected to shrug off minor injuries and take their places in the Crewe starting eleven. Abbey currently filling in at right-back for Danny Woodards who is out with a groin strain.
