City manager Paul Tisdale spoke to his club's official website and the Express and Echo ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tonight, Tisdale saying the Grecians are looking forward to the game :

"We have a long trip to Carlisle which is a long way from Devon as you know but we will go up there and see what happens but its been a good week so far. We go forward and we are looking forward to tonight. We do everything we can to minimise the impact of travelling on the players and the club has afforded us the chance to fly there and back so that gives us the best opportunity we can get to prepare correctly.

"But it's a hell of a long way for the supporters to go on a Tuesday night. If anyone makes it I think they will deserve a medal, but I hope we do get one or two of our supporters there. I can't guarantee a win or a draw but we can guarantee we will try our best as we did on Saturday. We are not going to get carried away or gloat about Charlton and I certainly wont be. We have had our fair share of disappointments recently as well.

"It was a good day at Carlisle last year, our first away win in League One. We defended well and scored a good goal on the counter attack. But a year is a long time. We have got some good memories but to be honest it was a long time ago and a lot has changed since then.

"Carlisle have had a good season so far, they have done well in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy again and they have got a good home record. It is our third away game in succession which adds a little bit to it for us, but we must focus on the game itself.

"We will go into the game with the same determination as we have the last two and we will think about having won three away games in a row only if we achieve it. We are fit at the moment and there is a bit of optimism about after our last two games so I hope we can perform in a similar manner."

While homegrown Grecians midfielder Liam Sercombe commented to the Express and Echo :

"It's going to be a tough game at Carlisle. They won at the weekend and they are a good team, but if we win there we will be right back in the mix, big time. Off the back of two away wins everyone was buzzing in the changing room after (the Charlton game) and everyone is so confident now. That just shows what two wins can do for you.

"We are confident we can go into this game and get the three points. We don't look at the teams below us, we always concentrate on those above us and Carlisle are one of them. If we beat them we will push past them and it would be good to get closer to the play-offs. But we also had a meeting about two weeks ago when we talked about how, if we finish above eighth this year, that would be the highest finish in Exeter City's history, so we have got plenty to look forward to.

"It was a great team performance on Saturday. It was a big win and keeps us in the mix for the play-offs, so we have got to keep it going. Our club always has great away support and I thought I would go and celebrate with them because they deserved that. They travel all this way every week. Our club's obviously tight knit, which is a great thing."

In team news case for City this evening it looks unlikely that left-sided Welsh international defender Richard Duffy will feature for the Grecians after he was substituted on just 11 minutes after straining a side muscle in Exeter's 3-1 win at Charlton on Saturday.

Striker Danny Nardiello is expected to return for the visitors though after missing the game at the Valley through illness, but young winger Jake Thomson is still sidelined with an ankle injury he picked up in a 2-0 reserve team defeat at Torquay two weeks ago.

The referee for tonight's match is Andy Haines from Sunderland and he will be assisted down the lines by Matthew Dicicco from Middlesbrough and Peter Gooch from Wigan. Meanwhile the fourth official is Jonathan Hunt from the County Durham FA.
