Former Blue Josh Gowling
Gills centre-half Josh Gowling spoke to Kent Online ahead of his side's League One game against Carlisle at the KRBS Priestfield Stadium tomorrow, Gowling reflecting on an unhappy time for him in his short spell at Brunton Park :

" I got dropped and there was no explanation for it. I went out on loan and asked them to come and watch me. They said they would but for the whole time nobody came. People have asked me if I have a point to prove to Carlisle but I don't think I have - it's their loss.

" They didn't give me a chance and to make only four appearances was a disgrace. When I got the call from Gillingham I had no hesitation. With Mark Stimson you know where you stand and he's straightforward and honest. I can't play for someone I don't respect.

" All of the goals came from us attacking Orient on Tuesday night and it's just not acceptable. We need to get it sorted. We're coming towards Christmas and we've only got one point away and that's just terrible. On Tuesday there was a bad series of events but we can't take away the fact that we lost because we didn't do our jobs properly. "

In team news for Gillingham, boss Mark Stimson has faced some late disruption after goalkeeper Simon Royce and midfielder Mark Bentley reported sick this morning with a flu virus. Stimson however is extremely likely to be without striker Febian Brandy who picked up a thigh injury in their 3-1 defeat at Leyton Orient on Tuesday evening, the Gills set to assess the extent of that problem this morning.

Former Blue Josh Gowling should be available though despite taking a blow to the head at the Matchroom Stadium earlier in the week, while definitely out are two long-term absentees in diminutive left-back Danny Jackman (shoulder) and centre-half Simon King (ankle).

In other news at the KRBS Priestfield Stadium the youthful pair of defender Tom Wynter and striker Luis Cumbers have extended their respective loan deals with Blue Square South side Dover Athletic and Blue Square Premier outfit AFC Wimbledon until the New Year.

The referee for tomorrow's match is Jarnail Singh from Hounslow in Middlesex, and he will be assisted down the lines by Lee Betts from Norwich and Richard Kendall from Luton. Meanwhile the fourth official is David Rock from Hertfordshire.
