" I've never won there, and it's about time that changed. We've got a good away record this season (five wins from ten) and our confidence and self-belief has been boosted by our recent results. We've all responded well to the new management team, and even before the Hereford match, there was a buzz about the place.
" We always say that a side's league position after Christmas games reflects how the rest of the season will go, and we've got a great opportunity to get ourselves into the promotion mix."
While central defender and long throw specialist Nathan Clarke commented to the Examiner :
" We've always been a solid group, and that's been honed by Gerry Murphy and Graham Mitchell, then the new management team. Everyone is keen to help each other out, and our self-belief has got stronger over the last few games.
" We've always known we're capable of mounting a genuine challenge in this division, and now we're starting to do exactly that. We've built some momentum, and the challenge now is to keep it going over the next two games. We're five points off the play-offs now, and by the time Oldham come here a week on Saturday, we want to be closer still. "
And winger Gary Roberts told his club's official website :
" It's been good in training; they are really professional people and the Gaffer (Lee Clark) has a really good backroom staff. He's only just stopped playing himself and although you know that he's the boss, he is like one of us - he knows how players work and what makes us tick.
" I'm excited and I know the other boys are when we come into training every morning; although it's hard work, it is really enjoyable. He is a good honest man and he looks like he is going to be a great manager. It's going to be cold in Carlisle, that's for sure! We are going up there full of confidence as we are one of the form teams in the League. We definitely believe that we can win. "
In team news for Town the only injured absentees will be left-back Joe Skarz (ankle) and veteran striker Andy Booth (back). First year professional defender Dan Codman (foot) is now fit again but unlikely to make the squad, while former Carlisle goalkeeper Matty Glennon looks set for a place on the substitutes bench with 18-year old glovesman Alex Smithies having started the last three Huddersfield games.
The referee for tomorrow's match is Graham Laws from Whitley Bay, and he will be assisted down the lines by Paul Curry from Morpeth and Glen Hart from Darlington. Meanwhile the fourth official is Geoff Eltringham from Sunderland.
