"We were very poor at Swansea and we made it easy for them to play against us. The next week or so is massive for us. We need to start putting things right and start getting results because otherwise we will be in a dogfight. Saturday's game against Carlisle is going to be another tough game and it's another one where we'll need to roll our sleeves up, dig in and get a result.
"My form's slowly coming together. It's been tricky for me because I've had an injury and I've had to build my fitness back up after that. I'm pleased with how I've been doing but you're only as good as your last game and at Swansea none of us were good enough. We've all got to have a long look at ourselves and what we're doing and put it right. If we can get a couple of back-to-back wins then the situation could change quite quickly."
The Cobblers have few injury problems ahead of the game tomorrow. Only centre-half Chris Doig and midfielder Giles Coke are definitely out of contention, influential skipper Doig is sidelined until the spring with torn knee ligaments while Coke will be missing for two to three weeks after recently undergoing a hernia operation.
Danish striker Poul Hubertz has been struggling with an achilles problem as well though so Dean Bowditch, on loan at Sixfields from Ipswich for a month, may be promoted from the bench tomorrow to make his full first-team debut for Northampton after coming on as a substitute in the two games he has featured in so far.
The referee for tomorrow's match is RAF Cottesmore-man Squadron Leader Trevor Kettle from Whissendine in Rutland, and he will be assisted down the lines by Nick Hobbis from Birmingham and Marvin Thompson from Northolt in Middlesex. Meanwhile the fourth official will be Mark Hutchinson from Bingham in Nottinghamshire.
