"We have been negotiating for a long time, but thankfully it is done now and I can settle down. I have got the option for next year as well, hopefully in the Championship. It is good for the club and I am happy that it is sorted. We really want to kick on now.
"I love it here. The gaffer (Paul Dickov) gives me confidence and lets me go out and do what I want to do. He lets me play with freedom and accepts that you are going to lose the ball sometimes if you are trying to beat players with tricks. It excites me and makes me buzz for a game. I can play with a smile on my face.
"I thought both teams would try to play at Huddersfield, but I didn't think that they did, which was quite surprising. But we did the fundamentals right, which was pleasing. We got wider more in the second half, put in a few good balls and had our chances.
"We didn't take them, unfortunately, but we got a good point at a hard place to come to. It shows our aspirations for this season that we are disappointed not to take three points. It will be a very hard game tonight too, Carlisle have been in very good form at the turn of the year, so we have to be on our guard."
In team news for the Latics this evening they will firstly be without experienced centre-half and captain Reuben Hazell who is suspended for two matches after picking up his tenth booking of the season in Oldham's 0-0 draw at Huddersfield on Saturday.
Another first-choice player who may be missing after that Terriers stalemate being pacey midfielder Chris Taylor who limped off the pitch at the Galpharm Stadium after 75 minutes following a bad challenge on his lower right leg from Huddersfield's Scott Arfield.
And one more midfielder who could be absent for Oldham this evening is Dale Stephens who has recently picked up a glandular infection, while 17-year old Northern Irish right-back Carl Winchester hobbled, with a knee injury, out of a 3-0 defeat in a Lancashire FA Senior Cup Quarter-Final tie against Manchester United on Sunday.
The referee for tonight's match is Mark Haywood from Leeds and he will be assisted down the lines by Anthony Tankard from Sheffield and Richard Wigglesworth from Doncaster. Meanwhile the fourth official is Jason Whiteley from Leeds.
