" I was really excited to get down here and work with him (Peter Reid), especially as he has managed at the top level as well. I think it will be brilliant for my progression, playing under someone with his experience and stature. I am waiting to learn the game. I've got some good players around me and they can hopefully help me through.
" I'm an attacking midfielder who likes to get forward. I like to get on the ball and try to link the play up. I like playing off the striker as well for third man runs and, hopefully, I can get on the scoresheet. I'm just thinking about the next few games, to be honest. I have got to work hard to get into the team, and once I get in there keep my place in it. I'm not expecting to go straight in. I have got to work hard for it.
" Spurs told me to come down here and enjoy my football, and show people what I can do. They told me I would be working under a good manager, who would look after me and not let me get away with anything. It will be a good learning curve for me, so they are quite excited for me to be down here too. I have really enjoyed training. It was quite a sharp session and I definitely got the journey out of my legs! There are some good players here — the quality is high — so I can't wait to start. "
As well as signing Parrett on loan from White Hart Lane recently, Argyle boss Peter Reid last week snapped up goalkeeper David Button from Harry Redknapp's Tottenham side for the rest of the season. Departing Home Park this week for a temporary spell away though is left-back Jim Paterson who has gone to Greece on trial, the 30-year old looking to earn a contract with Greek top flight side Kavala.
Injury-wise for Plymouth they will only be missing one player who would have been at the club anyway, with midfielder Simon Walton having had a loan deal at Sheffield United cancelled after he was ruled out of the whole 2010-11 campaign with a pre-season cruciate ligament injury. Winger Yannick Bolasie being the sole Argyle absentee after he suffered knee damage in an 8-0 friendly win at Saltash United.
The referee for tomorrow's match is Roger East from Salisbury in Wiltshire, and he will be assisted down the lines by Andy Davies from Southampton and Simon Knapp from Bristol. Meanwhile the fourth official is Paul Rees, who is also from Bristol. One thing going on while the refereeing crew have a break at half-time being the arrival on the pitch of former Carlisle and Plymouth player Billy Rafferty as the day's guest of honour.
