North End striker Joe Garner spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's game against Carlisle at Deepdale tomorrow afternoon, Garner though first remembering his two separate spells in a blue shirt:
“I probably played my best football, apart from this season, when I was up at Carlisle. I really enjoyed me time up there and much respect to the staff up there and the club in general. I think it is their biggest game of the season, they will bring a few down and hopefully they will have a nice day but not come away with any points, although we both need the points for different reasons.
“I think they have got a very good side, they have had a few injuries and have brought Gary Madine in from Sheffield Wednesday who is a top player at this level, I don’t know if Lee Miller will be back, but I think if those two are up top it will be a good game. I have played with both of them, Lee at Scunthorpe and Carlisle as well, he is a top player at our level and is a handful on his day.
“I spoke to Gary during the week and he has obviously got his goal at the weekend, so his confidence is up. He has put his troubles behind him and is just concentrating on his football, which is what he has been best at. But, we have been putting everything behind us here as well and we are just concentrating on the games we have got. We have got five games left and we want to pick up as many points as we can and go into the play-offs if that is what happens where we will be fighting and ready for it and hopefully we can go into them with a bit of momentum.
“I thought we were unlucky on Saturday not to come away with three points. I thought we played really well first-half and we got the goal which we went for. They scored their goal with a deflection, but fair play to Bristol City, they might have deserved it second-half as they came out and played well. But, we thought that we should have held on for the three points.”
In team news for the Lilywhites tomorrow they will be missing two players, one through injury and one through suspension. Right-back Scott Wiseman still being out with a minor knee problem, while skipper and central midfielder John Welsh is sidelined as he sees out a two-match ban for picking up his tenth yellow card of the season in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Bristol City for North End. On the plus side of things for Preston boss Simon Grayson though he does have Stuart Beavon back available for selection after the striker missed that game at Ashton Gate with flu.
The referee for tomorrow's match is Mark Haywood from Wakefield and he will be assisted down the lines by another West Yorkshire man in Mark Dwyer from Castleford, as well as Robert Jones from Wallasey on the Wirral. Meanwhile, the fourth official is Christopher Sarginson from Rugeley in Staffordshire.
