Team News From The Southampton Camp

Southampton goalkeeper Kelvin Davis spoke to his club's official website ahead of his side's League One game against Carlisle at St. Mary's Stadium tomorrow, Davis looking to push on after Tuesday's disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Oldham :

" We'll pick ourselves up and brush ourselves down for another home game on Saturday against a team who are going to want to prove us wrong after the cup final so we'll have to be up for that game, otherwise we'll certainly come off the pitch embarrassed if we don't.

" We'll certainly be looking to win the last three games, the manager and us as players expect that, so we'll approach those games to win and keep three clean sheets. "




In team news for Southampton tomorrow French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will be absent as he sits out the second match of a bumper four game suspension after being sent off against Yeovil last weekend. Schneiderlin's ban having been extended as it was his second red card of the season.

Also missing for the Saints will be experienced defender Wayne Thomas who is out with a calf injury, while another veteran back four player, in Graeme Murty, is still on the recovery trail after undergoing an ankle operation in February. While finally staying in the aged defensive ranks, Tunisian centre-half Radhi Jaidi is doubtful for tomorrow's match as he has been sidelined with a hamstring problem recently.

Further up the pitch young midfield duo Jack Boyle and Ryan Doble are both out for the now minimal remainder of the season after the pair both co-incidentally underwent hip operations last month. The final Saint missing in action tomorrow being winger Lee Holmes who has been sidelined for a month now with a groin injury.




The referee for tomorrow's match is Simon Hooper from Swindon, and he will be assisted down the lines by Adam Nunn from Trowbridge, also in Wiltshire, and Andy Newbold from Loughborough in Leicestershire. Meanwhile the fourth official is Gary Jerden from Grays in Essex. The quartet of officials overseeing a game that will take place on a pitch that has won Saints Groundsman Andy Gray the title of League One Groundsman of the Year.
