Boro midfielder Robin Shroot spoke to SKY Sports ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow, Shroot relishing the challenge facing Stevenage :
"It is the furthest trip in the league for us this season and that should give us extra determination to bring back the three points after going all that way. We know that they are a good side and it is never easy to go to Carlisle, but it is a challenge that we will relish.
"There is a lot of competition in the squad and we've had a mixed start to the season, with a great result against Sheffield Wednesday and then losing to Notts County at home. It was obviously disappointing to pull off a great result and then not carry that momentum on into the next game. In any team sport in the world it is always good to have competition for places because it makes players fight harder to keep their place in the side. We need to make sure that everyone from 1-25 is putting a shift in to help this club move forward."
In team news for Stevenage tomorrow, their only definite absentee is winger Rob Sinclair who is still on the comeback trail following groin surgery, the Boro do though have large doubts over the participation of central midfielder John Mousinho who limped out of a 2-0 defeat against Notts County last weekend with a hamstring strain.
Meanwhile, also maybe out of the Stevenage squad is striker Chris Beardsley who had to be substituted after 38 minutes of a 2-2 home reserve team draw against Oxford on Wednesday with a back problem. The visitors however can at last call upon Irish frontman Don Cowan who has recently finally got his international clearance through after signing for the Boro for an undisclosed fee from Longford Town at the end of the August transfer window.
The referee for tomorrow afternoon's match is David Webb from Stanley in County Durham and he will be assisted down the lines by Tony Peart from Northallerton in North Yorkshire and Michael Salisbury from Preston. Meanwhile the fourth official is Paul Curry from Morpeth in Northumberland.
