After comfortably defeating Baker-Joiner Midland Football Alliance Division One side Tipton Town 6-0 at home yesterday in round one, United will once more face non-league oppostition at Brunton Park tomorrow when they will take on Blue Square Bet Premier side Tamworth.

The Lambs themselves though causing a cup upset in the first round when they beat League Two outfit Crewe Alexandra 2-1 at home thanks to a goal in either half from Alex Rodman and Danny Thomas, with Ashley Westwood's 88th minute strike only proving to be a consolation effort for the Railwaymen.

Tamworth currently sit down in 19th place, and just three points off the relegation zone in the Blue Square Bet Premier table, with a record of five wins, seven draws and eight defeats from their 20 matches played so far. Their away record meanwhile reading two wins, three draws, five defeats, 12 goals scored and 19 conceded.

They did pick up another away victory however in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round when they won 1-0 at Blundell Park in a replay against Grimsby Town after the original tie had finished 2-2 at the Lamb Ground. Tamworth top scorer Kyle Perry netting the only goal of the game for the Staffordshire outfit in the 41st minute to put them through for their first round proper tie at home to Crewe.

There are no former Carlisle players in the Tamworth squad at present, with their first team currently under the caretaker management of former Nottingham Forest defender Des Lyttle. As for games between the two sides, the Lambs and Blues have never faced each other in the FA Cup and each club won their home game in the then Nationwide Conference in the 2004-05 season, United 2-1 at Brunton Park and Tamworth 1-0 at the Lamb Ground.

Ahead of the game Des Lyttle telling BBC Radio West Midlands :

" I have had the chance to watch them on DVD, luckily enough I know Martyn O'Connor who is the assistant manager at Walsall. He has sent me up a DVD of last Saturday's game when they beat them at home.

" I have spoken to Micky Adams and he has sent me some paperwork from Port Vale from when they played them in one of the cup games two weeks ago. So, we have done our homework on them like we did against Crewe and we are prepared. Hopefully we will go up there on the day and make a good account of ourselves. "

In team news for the Lambs they only have one bit of injury news, with striker Alex Rodman suffering recently with a back problem. Tamworth had been hoping to signing a midfielder before today's non-league deadline, but with that not coming to fruition their squad has just 22 players in it, one of those being 39-year old Lyttle and another three being youth-teamers.

The referee for tomorrow's match is Scott Mathieson from Stockport and he will be assisted down the lines by Iain Siddall from Bolton and Simeon Lucas from Darwen, near Blackburn. Meanwhile the fourth official is another Lancastrian as it is Jeremy Simpson from Carnforth.
