Les ParryRovers boss Les Parry spoke to the Liverpool Echo ahead of his side's League One match against Carlisle at Prenton Park tonight, Parry though first looking back on a 2-0 defeat for Tranmere at Huddersfield on Saturday:

“We are looking to improve our quality in the final third of the field. I tried to look at last Saturday’s game in an unbiased way and Huddersfield scored two goals from great finishes in situations that were not really chances. The best two chances of the game fell for us: Ian Goodison when he was three yards out and put it over and Zoumana Bakayogo on the edge of the box with the keeper nowhere and he put it wide.

"There is no column in the league table for chances created and we can’t keep going on about not taking them. We broke three times on Saturday in situations where we could have slotted players in on goal and we decided to do something different. When we get around the box, we’ve got to pick people out. It is something we can work on. We need to get our strikers scoring goals because once they start scoring, it will carry on.

“People talk about taking one game at a time but it is difficult to do that when you have two home games in a week. People are always going to put them together and say we should be looking for six points. The two home games give us an opportunity to get a few more places up the table, perhaps into the top six. We start against Carlisle and we have to be confident. We have to set our goals realistically and for us that means we should not be beaten in these two games. At Accrington Carlisle were 2-1 up and down to nine men when I left, so they have some resilience. Greg Abbott will have them well-organised.”

In team news for the home side this evening they will definitely be missing a trio of players with firstly influential wing duo Martin Devaney and Andy Robinson out with hamstring injuries, while Northern Irish centre-half Mark McChrystal is sidelined long term with a foot problem. As well as those absentees Rovers also have veteran central defender Ian Goodison and lanky striker Enoch Showumni playing through respective stomach and shin injuries, while fellow frontman Adam McGurk is short of match fitness after returning from a thigh problem at the weekend.

The referee for tonight's match is Scott Mathieson from Stockport and he will be assisted down the lines by Peter Gooch from Wigan and Stephen Smith from Middleton St George in County Durham. Meanwhile the fourth official is Peter Wright from Southport.
