SadlerSaddlers left-back Mat Sadler spoke to the Express and Star ahead of his side's League One game at home to Carlisle tomorrow, Sadler hoping for a better performance :

"There’s definitely a bit of edginess around the place when we play at home. We need to make the Banks’s a fortress – as it says when we walk out – and we need to pick up points at home. I don’t know what it is. Maybe there’s a bit of nervousness there which isn’t there when we’re away, maybe we set up in a way which helps us play away."

Meanwhile centre-half Manny Smith commented :

“We want to compete against and beat the big teams, we want to prove we’re not here to float around in the league – we want to be recognised. It’s early doors but we need to start a run, hopefully on Saturday. Everyone wants to play, win and be involved and we’ve got far too much to go down.”

In team news for the Saddlers tomorrow they have three players unavailable, the trio being Andy Butler, Claude Gnapka and Jon Macken. Centre-half and captain Butler out suspended after being sent off for a professional foul on Michail Antonio at Colchester last Saturday, while French winger Gnapka is sidelined with a hamstring injury, as is veteran frontman Macken. In better news for Walsall boss Dean Smith though, Derby-loanee wide-man Dave Martin will be in his matchday squad after shaking off an ankle problem.

The referee for tomorrow afternoon's match is Lee Collins from Woking in Surrey and he will be assisted down the lines by Gary Hilton from Upholland in Lancashire and Marc Perry from Tamworth. Meanwhile the fourth official is Ollie Yates from Stoke-on-Trent.
