" It was a blip against Brentford, but we know what we've got to do and we're going to put it right. We were disappointed as a team. I don't think we came out and showed what we can do and what we've done in the last four or five games. It's frustrating that we lost, but it's one of those games that we'll learn from and bounce back from against Carlisle.
" No disrespect to Brentford, but when you come to these smaller clubs you've got to be bigger than them. We didn't turn up and we were punished. We can pass the ball, we work hard, but at the end of the day we didn't take our chances. For us it's frustrating because we never got going for some reason and when that happens, you can get punished.
" What we've done so far has been encouraging, we've worked hard and gelled well, which is the biggest thing for me. I think we can achieve promotion this season. With the players we've got, we can do really well. Compared to what we had last year with the new players the gaffer (Alan Irvine) has brought in, I think we're stronger and the new additions have been good for the team, especially with the strikers he's brought in and the midfielders.
" We've got to keep going and can't get too disheartened with the defeat. At the end of the day it's one defeat and we're still top of the table. We've got a tough game against Carlisle, but we're back at Hillsborough and we've got to put things right.
" I think we've done well and we're really just taking every game as it comes. We can't get carried away and we'll keep working hard to get some more good results. The fans have been tremendous this season and they've been right behind us, so let's go and put on a good performance against Carlisle. We need to get the goals we've been getting and keep building. "
Meanwhile defender Darren Purse commented to the Sheffield Star, firstly on the defeat at Brentford :
" This is probably one of the best things that could have happened for us. It's better that we get a result like this as early as possible in the season to get it out of our system. If we'd gone eight to ten games and then it hits us, then we'd probably start to believe in our own publicity. We need to knuckle down because we know this is going to be a tough, tough season. The fans and the players don't get carried away with how well we're doing because we all know it's going to be very tough.
" If you have said we'd be top of the league after five games we'd have definitely have settled for that. But we're still disappointed with our defeat because we believe we can go out and win every game. That's the mentality we've got to go out with every game. We can't let this defeat fester now because we've got another massive game against Carlisle on Saturday. It's at Hillsborough and we've got a fantastic record there this season, so let's keep that going and see if we can get a good result. "
