Glovers winger Andy Welsh spoke to his club's official website and thisissomerset.co.uk ahead of his side's final League One match of the season away to Carlisle tomorrow, Welsh saying there is no point travelling all the way up to Cumbria just to go home with nothing :
"I think we just need to go out in the Carlisle game and enjoy it, but you have got to have a certain amount of discipline, and for me I want to go out and win it and I am sure a lot of the other lads do, there is no point us travelling all the way up to Carlisle to get beat. Let's keep this run going and finish the season unbeaten, why can't we do that? Then it might turn a few heads, the board might think with the gaffer (Terry Skiverton) to keep this going and keep every single player we have got. We are definitely going up to Carlisle win the game, but I don't think there is ever a good time to go there some people would say. But, it is better going in the summer rather than on a wet, cold Tuesday night isn't it.
“I have really enjoyed the season, I have been able to get on the score sheet a lot more and I have chipped in with the most assists again, which is what I pride myself on. On a personal note I have enjoyed it and the second half of the season for the team the results have been excellent and in a way you do not want the season to end. But there have been ups and downs and there were times we just were not at it all.
Meanwhile Glovers assistant manager Nathan Jones commented to thisissomerset.co.uk :
"Our form since Christmas has been phenomenal, the manager has done superbly with who he has brought in and the characters, and how we have changed it around. The staff have done fantastically in how they have created an atmosphere around the place and the players have been an absolute pleasure. We have a squad now that is a pleasure to coach and a pleasure to work with. We have players that want to graft, that want to work and want to compete. We have a nice edge about us at the minute and for Yeovil Town that is fantastic.
"Whether we are able to keep them and continue with that is another thing, we have got a tricky summer ahead. If we could shut up shop now and start next season with this squad we would bite their hand off. But we will do everything we can and the club will do everything they can to keep the players we want to keep, to add a few as well and to make the future as rosy as we can. We have a top environment at the club and we are as good as anyone in the league with that environment."
In team news for the Glovers tomorrow they will be missing a pair of striking Williams, as firstly frontman Andy is out with a long-term ankle ligament injury while fellow centre-forward Sam has been sidelined recently with a shoulder problem. On the flip side of the coin for Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton though, he will welcome back Carlisle-born skipper Paul Huntington who has missed the last two Glovers matches after picking up a two-yellow card sending-off in a 2-2 home draw against Bournemouth a fortnight ago.
The referee for tomorrow's match is Jock Waugh from Sheffield and he will be assisted down the lines by Richard Clark from Morpeth in Northumberland and Barry Gordon from Chester-le-Street in County Durham. Meanwhile the fourth official is Tony Harrington from Hartlepool.
