Glovers striker James Hayter spoke to the Western Express ahead of his side’s League One match against Carlisle at Brunton Park tomorrow afternoon, Hayter talking about his strike partnership with former United frontman Paddy Madden:
“I have always been a team player and I am happy for Paddy to get the headlines. He has done brilliantly since he has come in and the amount of goals he has scored in the short period has been nothing short of phenomenal. I am happy for him to get the headlines, I am just pleased that we have been winning games. We had a little falter of late and although we have only lost two we have drawn two and we need to turn those into victories.
“He came in straight away, worked hard and works for the team as well. He is a good player and I like to think we work well together. Good players find it easy to work well together if you are working for the team and each other. If you are creating chances for each other it is always going to make it easier, hopefully that can continue and I would like to think we work well as a pair. Paddy has got his pace and stays a bit longer, and I can drop in a bit so I think we work well together.”
In team news for the visitors they will be missing two players from their matchday squad. The first being skipper and left-back Jamie McAllister who is seeing out the first game of a two-match ban after he picked up his tenth yellow card of the season against Swindon in midweek, McAllister though even without that booking having to go off injured in that 2-0 defeat with a recurring ankle problem. Meanwhile the second is midfielder Sam Foley who is absent with a hip injury.
The referee for tomorrow's match is Geoff Eltringham from Sunderland and he will be assisted down the lines by Paul Curry from Morpeth and Lee Metcalfe from Preston. Meanwhile the fourth official is Kevin Mattocks from Chorley.
