United media officer and first team kitman Andy Hall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips ahead of Carlisle's League One match away to Colchester this evening, Hall talking about the Cumbrians fielding the same side for five games in a row at the start of this season :

" We were thinking that the last time we fielded an unchanged line-up for five games in a row was maybe the mid-90s. But even then you are looking at things like the early stages of what used to be the Auto Windscreens and things like that. It would be highly irregular for a manager to name five in a row.

" We have had the Carling Cup this season but he (Greg Abbott) has still gone with that same starting line-up. So, that is a pat on the back for the lads who are doing such a good job at the moment.

" If you look back to last season as well he didn't have this opportunity because of injuries and various other situations that cropped up. So, for him to be able to do this this season with the lads playing so well, if it isn't broken then why fix it.

" The MK Dons game was Francois Zoko's best game in a blue shirt so far wasn't it. He got one goal, he could have had two, he was involved in just about everything, as was his strike partner Gary Madine. So, that is exactly the return you want from these lads when you are giving them that little bit of assurance that they are being selected. Francois we think will only get better and better.

" It has been slightly different for this away game in that we trained in Carlisle yesterday, I think we have taken that one as a bit of a slap in the face, because I don't think it is something that we will do again. We left late yesterday afternoon and it is a chance in a million but we hit an horrific road traffic accident. "

" For us that means, it is difficult to get past it, but your thoughts are with whoever was involved in that accident obviously. But, the downside of that is that we didn't get to the hotel until around-about midnight last night. So, that is not the best preparation, fortunately it is an evening kick off so it gave us today to recuperate a little bit, not us but the lads obviously.

" Hopefully it won't have a knock-on effect but I think we have learnt a little bit of a lesson there that perhaps even if it is an evening kick-off we would rather get half-way, try to break up the journey and travel on from there.

" It is still important that you do your preparation right. It is not just about doing a little bit of a light training session, they have got to eat properly and it is all about energy and it is all about fuel and being ready. So, yes, even though we were late there is still that element today where you had to get ready.

" I think it is just a case tonight of keeping things going. You look back to that late winning goal for the last season and we were all convinced that he (Kayode Odejayi) was a mile offside. The replay showed that maybe he wasn't, we can still debate that I suppose for a while.

" But, it is not so much revenge, there is no element of that this early in the season. You just want to keep this going, if you have got momentum all the way through August and September then who knows? "
