United media officer and first team kitman Andy Hall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's James Phillips ahead of Carlisle's League One match at home to Charlton, Hall first talking about the lengthening injury problems at Brunton Park this week :
" Both the Sean McDaid and Oliver Norwood injuries really came from nowhere. Ollie, when he first complained about his thigh, he has come up today, we have just been talking about it me and him, he was saying that it was a twinge more than anything on Monday.
" He had a precautionary scan which looked like he might miss one game, wakes up on Thursday morning and it was really hurting him. So, he had another scan and he has been ruled out for four weeks. Then obviously with Sean, absolutely devastated for the guy, what a lovely fellow he is and he is going to miss the season, hopefully it won't be as bad as that for the lad but let's wait and see on that one.
" The prognosis at the moment is that he will miss the season. But, he has come in here and I think he has been absolutely fantastic, not just the way he plays but his attitude. It is a big loss, it does hurt everybody and not just Sean when you find out that he is going to be missing.
" Matty Robson has been dropping into left-back at reserve level. We saw him do it particularly well at Middlesbrough when we played them, so it is not something that would be new to him. Although it would be new to him in a League One environment against a really good team in Charlton Athletic, so it is a test for him but he will just be pleased to be starting.
" If Scott Wagstaff doesn't test him then it will be (Jose) Semedo and (Therry) Racon won't it, two excellent players in midfield. It is a tough one today but we saw last year that if you play well and play properly against Charlton then you get the points. "
" Francois Zoko, Mike Grella and Craig Curran are the three key names. I think we have seen all three of them, even Mike when he came on last week, they have been used in a very free role, it is a case of get on there and do some damage. We have seen Francois, when he has been told to not so much sit in that hole behind the front two, but to do his own thing, he does do his own thing and he really is a problem.
" So, that is what they have been told, it will be very flexible, all three of them will move about. Mike Grella, if he is having a little bit of purchase upfront then you may see him take on that secondary role alongside Gary (Madine). Craig Curran, if it is his day for that then he will do it but all three of them have been given, not just the attacking role, but make sure we are not exposed, but do your thing.
" When Greg Abbott grabbed me at lunchtime yesterday and said that I needed to get myself ready because we had Corry Evans coming in, it was like wow! But, I don't think that even then he intended to start him, it was a case of let's get this lad in, Ollie is going back, it is somebody that we can use.
"He needs to have a longer look at us, we do need to look at him and make sure that he knows in his own mind what it is he has to do. Because to throw somebody in after only 12 hours at the club, that would be a big ask.
" We want to win, particularly at home, the fans stuck with us against Notts County, they could have got impatient, they didn't, but the support was there all the way through. They got their reward for that with Gary Madine's goal, that is what it is all about, the fact that you are at home, you want to be winning for the home fans. Keep these ones who are here coming and the people who are listening at home in the Carlisle region, maybe they will start to come along as well. "
