Steve Evans, who was speaking exclusively to Boston United's official club website, talked about the hard work that Carlisle put in as a team to achieve what they have. Evans also chatted about his own sides play-off aspirations and what he felt the Pilgrims need to do to have a chance of making the end-of-season lottery :

"Paul Simpson has done a magnificent job at Carlisle and he has kept the momentum and interestingly most of the same players from when they were promoted from the Conference.

"They have a number of talented individuals, such as (Michael) Bridges and (Karl) Hawley, but when I have watched them, it has been the overall team performance and willingness to help each other out that has stuck in my mind.

"We have prepared the boys for what will be a tough afternoon, but one we all look forward to, especially in front of such a large crowd.

"Our own individual target here at Boston United is to get eight or nine points from our next four league matches and although it is a big ask of the players, we will do everything we can to start that points tally adding up by getting something tomorrow in Cumbria."

Evans also spoke to The Lincolnshire Echo about the big game coming up tomorrow afternoon :

"Carlisle are the champions-elect and are a different grade to teams like Northampton. It's by far our most difficult fixture of the season, but we'll go there, work hard and see what we can get.

"Some people have suggested we owe Carlisle one after the game in January. But that's not in our thinking. We're just concentrating on the fact we need something from the game.

"Before the Lincoln City match last Saturday, we set ourselves a target of nine points from the next four games. The only way can achieve that now is by winning tomorrow.

"But if we can keep playing as well as we did against Northampton, we will definitely win more games than we lose."

The Pilgrims make their way up to Brunton Park with two or three expected absentees due to injury. Boston centre-half, and captain, Stewart Talbot, is rated as doubtful for the clash, while right-back Lee Canoville and Clitheroe-born central midfielder Chris Holland will undergo late fitness tests on Saturday morning to see if they are able to take any part in the game. 29-year old striker Jermaine McSporran has also completed his one-month loan period at York Street and returned to Doncaster Rovers yesterday.
