Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn spoke to BBC Radio Solent about the 1-1 draw against Carlisle at Brunton Park that relegated the Cherries to League Two, Mostyn unable to attend the match as he was at his daughter's wedding :
" It's unbelievable, I'm just about to give my speech as the father of the bride and it's going to be a lot more difficult than it was 15 minutes ago. Whereas I've been focused and very strong all day I'm now extremely emotional about what has happened. There is football in my speech, it was all about football, all about the day. Hopefully that will be less sensitive than getting totally emotional about my daughter, so I might be able to keep myself in one piece.
" I'd just like to congratulate Kevin (Bond) and all the players and all our supporters. The team have been magnificent, people could think that we have overachieved in getting to where we are but I just think it is incredible. Absolutely devastated that we have fallen at the final hurdle but the lads, Kevin and everybody associated with AFC Bournemouth should feel justifiably proud of themselves.
" Thanks to Radio Solent I've been able to follow much of the commentary. Once again I've been running in and out, absent without leave I think probably the Army terminology would be, because we had a television set. I've been looking at the other scores, and as always happens on the last day of the season your emotions go from one direction to the other as other scores come in.
" We always knew today it wasn't just going to be in our hands, that was the difficult thing. Yet to even be in contention on the last day of the season when we were 14 points adrift just speaks volumes for the commitment of the lads. I think that everybody associated with this football club should be really proud of them. I think that weeks ago we expected to start next season in League Two, that's where we are, let's start planning now for next year's campaign. I have every confidence that we are going to come back bigger and stronger than ever before.
" I think there is a little bit more due diligence to do on my takeover, I had meetings with lawyers and accountants at the football club on Friday. I think that we have probably got about another 14 days to go before we nail it and announce our plans for the future. It's imperative that we do something sooner rather than later and I'm going to be starting the planning on Monday, or Tuesday should I say, I'm going to have a day off for the Bank Holiday.
" Start the plans on Tuesday so we are ready to roll, we haven't launched the season tickets yet. We need to assume that we have got control and get the planning started and the infrastructure started straight away. Thank you to everybody at Radio Solent for keeping me informed of what has been going on, and for all your support throughout the season and I wish everybody a very happy summer. "
