United midfielder Chris Lumsdon talked to BBC Radio Cumbria on Friday evening as he spoke about how he is spending his summer break, Lumsdon saying :

" I've just been chilling out really, two holidays and doing a bit of running on my own which is harder than anything, just waiting to get back now. I think every club gets fitness programmes the way the game has changed now. In the past people just used to have the full seven weeks off and not do anything, then when they came back and started running they got injuries. I think it's just a case of keeping fit so when you go back into it you're not getting pulls or strains or anything like that.

" From about two weeks ago you start focusing on the fact that you know you are coming back in, then this week I have been on the phone to about six of the lads, and they are all looking forward to getting back in. There are some really big teams in there, we've got Leeds, and we've got Nottingham Forest again so there are going to be some good games that the supporters can watch. Hopefully they will be great games to play in as well.

" I've played against him (Marc Bridge-Wilkinson) a few times and we get on well on the pitch. He's a good player, you can have a bit of banter with him, he's not one of those you don't get on with where you start swearing at each other. We just get along well and respect each other, he's a good lad as well I've heard so it will be good to get him in. He was playing deep for Bradford but I don't think he enjoyed that as he was saying, I think he likes to play further forward. I think he used to play in a free role when I played against him when I was younger but I think he is more of a central midfielder now. "
