United midfielder Chris Lumsdon spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about the excellent victory over Brighton that leaves the Blues just four points off the top of the League One table :

" As the gaffer (Neil McDonald) said before the game, if we make the draws a win then it will be a brilliant result, we had to get the win today and we did. The last couple of games we have been turning it on in the second-half so the gaffer wanted us to do it for the full 90 this time. We came out in the first-half and got the goals and set the tone really, we backed off a bit in the second-half but we had it won really I thought.

" The great start settles everybody down and that's what we wanted, an early goal gets them on the back-foot and gets the crowd on our side, Karl's (Hawley) finish was a great strike and put us on the up. They (Kevin Gray and Peter Murphy) have been first class all season and they just carried it on today, Murph is a bit disappointed with himself about the goal but I thought he was outstanding today, so we'll let him off. He fines me for anything though so I might look into that.

" Simon's (Hackney) header wasn't that good – it took a deflection, I know he's a religious man but he can lie. We're looking forward to Tuesday now, just got to get home and lie on the settee for a couple of days thank God, and just wait for Tuesday and get amongst them as well. Last week has taken it's toll a bit, we've gone about it the right way though and the gaffer has given us a lot of rest so we'll be up for it Tuesday again. "
