Blades boss Danny Wilson spoke to BBC Radio Sheffield after his side's 1-0 League One win over Carlisle at Brammall Lane, Wilson saying it was a great three points for the home side :
"It was a great 1-0, it was a great three points for us that first and foremost I think, in a game that was as tight as it was in terms of the goals, it is always nice to keep a clean sheet and come away with those three points as we knew they would be very stubborn in lots of areas and they proved that. It was a very, very hard earned and dogged display from us at certain times, particularly at the latter end of the game when they have got nothing to lose and they are throwing 6'5 centre-backs up into centre-forward lines, it is difficult.
"But, we stood firm and Simo (Steve Simonsen) has not had one save to make all the game quite honestly, so in that reflection you think we deserved the win. But, we had numerous chances throughout the game and some great defending from their point of view, some good goalkeeping has kept the score down to one, but I think we were fully deserving of the result.
"It was harder than it needed to be simply because we didn't take the chances presented to us, we could have had two or three quite easily but credit to them, they have not buckled and when you get a gilt-edged chance with the penalty you want to finish it off and put everybody's nerves at bay, but we don't do anything easy do we, we keep people on their toes. But, because we haven't they still think there is something in the game from Carlisle's point of view, and I suppose there is.
"But, I have to say that some of the defending at the end was excellent when they were just throwing everything at you, and then we broke out on numerous occasions and could have put it to bed at any time in those counter-attack situations. But, at the end of the day we have got what we wanted which is three points and I am not really too bothered how it came today. The game in my opinion was there for us to push on and win it even more emphatically, it wasn't to be but there we go, we still won"
"We have had some good defensive displays this season but I have to say that I think in terms of the quality that they have got, (Francois) Zoko came on during the second-half and is a real handful, alongside Lee Miller who we know very well, and potency-wise they are very good. So, to keep those two quiet and not to give Simo any saves to make, you have got to say great defending from front to back.
"Fantastic for Ched Evans, absolutely brilliant, and I think he is bang on blob at the moment isn't he and he is a real handful. But, it is the other players that are in the side as well that will get us the results as well as Ched, but he is very potent at the moment. I think there is an area where we can be more clinical but we are never happy as managers, we have got the three points but we want to be better and better, and that is right, we don't just want to be stood still and think everything is hunky-dory because there are lots of areas which we can still get better at.
"Lee Williamson came off because he had a knock, he has got a knee injury, so we had to take him off as we did with Ched with his ankle injury. Lee has played very well of late, very well, he has come back into the team and has done really well, I think the fact that Matty Phillips from Blackpool came in and did really well has seen Willo throw a marker down now, he has said I am in the team and it is up to somebody to get me out of it, which is brilliant.
"Ryan Flynn too is a quality player, he is a clever player you know, he is a very intelligent boy and he has won us a great penalty with a great bit of skill and his knowledge and positional sense are very good and his work ethic is excellent and I think in that respect you will see him get better and better as we go along. I think he has been a little bit unfortunate that he has not been in the side at the moment, but he is a fantastic one to have on the bench for us.
"I don't think it was a clean strike by Richard (Cresswell) on the penalty quite honestly, I think it hit the keeper (Adam Collin) on the knees, he will be gutted but the nice thing is that we haven't suffered because of it. I think the lads themselves have dug in and got the result that they have wanted, despite it not being easy with them throwing everything up at the end there."
