Dario Gradi
Alex' caretaker manager Dario Gradi spoke to BBC Radio Stoke about his side's 2-0 FA Cup second round win at Brunton Park tonight, Gradi pleased as much as for the Crewe supporters as the players :

" They have worked hard for that the boys, and not just for my couple of games in charge but they worked hard for Steve (Holland). They were due a bit of luck and good fortune so that is good for them and good for the travelling supporters as well. It obviously makes us look forward to the next game.

" I said to them before the game that if we play like we did against Leicester than we would get something out of the game. I think that we enjoyed the game at Leicester even though we lost it because we felt that we had made some progress and that we were getting somewhere. The fans enjoyed it as well so we will get better because our play on the ball will get better. I think that it did get better and I think that it will get better still.

" The best goal Shaun Miller was the third one that they didn't allow. He didn't pass the ball to us very much but he ran himself into the ground the lad. I thought that he and Colin (Daniel), I thought that the front three were a threat and I think that they will get better. That way has suited us and the defence is standing strong now, Stuart (Tomlinson) has done well in goal also. So players do well, if they do well then the team has got a chance. As individuals I have not waved a magic wand but they are probably playing a bit better than they were.

" In the end they (Carlisle) were shooting from a long way out and they were whacking a lot of high balls in. They were more dangerous I thought in the first-half, but you never know, a shot just might ricochet off or a corner. Danny O'Donnell had a great chance from a corner too didn't he you know, so we were still making chances in the second-half. "

" We have always known that he (Tomlinson) is a good goalkeeper, that is why we have kept him here. He has been a bit unlucky with injuries in the last 12 months, he is impetuous which is why he never came off his line in the first-half, because he is aware of me feelings on that score. He got it right in the second-half though and of course as he made his save he grew with confidence, and the confidence of the players grew also with him.

" It means a happy dressing-room and a good trip home and a good feeling, as well as a good feeling for the supporters that came. You really do feel for them, what a night it is to be out and about, and they have come all the way here and we haven't won an away game have we all season. There they are cheering us on, although to be fair we gave them something early to cheer about, but that is part of it as well, they are the real true supporters.

" I don't think that he (Kenny Lunt) is going to play that role in the team much longer because I think that he is going to die. He is in the dressing-room about a hair's breadth away from dying I think, he is coughing and spluttering and spewing as he has been all day. People know what I think of Kenny and he was shouting something to me in the first-half, I told him that I couldn't understand what he was saying but whatever it was do it.

" It was to do with the corners and I said to him at half-time for him to feel free to do whatever he thought was on, then I would see what he has done and if I didn't like it then I would change it. It is good to have a captain out there, Bob Scott was an excellent captain, I have had some good captains. Ken is the one that is the lieutenant, he knows, he probably sees I think, I have said this before, he probably sees it before Neil (Cox) and I do.

" Michael (O'Connor) I think has just turned his ankle over a little bit, the ankle that he had a bit of a problem with. Shaun (Miller) has got cramp in every muscle in his body I think but otherwise they are fine. Calvin (Zola) has run himself into the ground as well and was a real threat. So yes, this is when you enjoy being a manager, don't even talk about Saturday though, I am just going to enjoy the rest of the week. "
