"It was a disappointing result. The first half I thought we were the better side, but in the second half we switched off and conceded two very sloppy goals. The first one especially was disappointing, because it was so soon after we took the lead. When you take the lead against teams like Carlisle you have to make them work for chances, you can't afford to just give them goals like we did.
"To be one up and then 2-1 down at half-time was very frustrating, and it became more and more difficult to get back into it. They were very good opposition for us, and they hit us on the break in the second half when we were pushing for an equaliser.
"Carlisle are one of the better sides in the league, and they will be up there challenging this season. Nobody likes to lose a home game, no matter who it's against, but they were a decent side and there were some parts of our display that we can be pleased with. If we play like we did in the early part of the first half in our home games this season, then I think we'll be ok.
"In the first half I felt sharp, and I thought Rickie (Lambert) and I linked up well. But in the second half, especially towards the end, I began to tire a bit and I think people could see that. I did actually get the ball in the back of the net at one point, but the referee had blown up for a foul by Jeff Hughes. It would have been nice to have scored a goal on my debut, although Jeff did bully someone out of the way so it wasn't to be!"
