David Raven - excellent game
United's stand-in centre-half David Raven spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he talked about how hard the Blues had to work today to secure a 1-0 home win over Oldham :

" I'm enjoying myself at centre-back, I played there years ago when I was younger, 15 or 16-years old, so it's not totally alien to me, but yes I'm enjoying myself. I think the lads have been alright about it, it was a massive shock at the start of the week. Without sounding too harsh though, football is football and we've just carried on, got on with it and trained well and dug in because managers come and go as do players. The lads have just basically got their heads down and tried to get results which is what we've done today.

" Greg (Abbott) told us before the game not to think about him and that will sort itself out but the lads know Greg, Greg knows the lads, and we want to keep a good thing going which is what we've got going at the moment. I suppose it is in the back of your mind that you want to do it for Greg as well but the lads just go out there and give 100% anyway. I wasn't here when Dennis (Booth) was here but he's a top man. He's a good lad round the changing rooms and all that sort of thing.

" The second-half is when you earn your money as defenders because they had a lot of the ball in the second-half. We didn't keep it well enough, we know that, it's early days in the season but the main thing is that we came away with the three points and we're made up with that. It's been a very difficult week on and off the pitch and the lads have dug deep today without playing the best of football. We dug very deep and got the three points that I think we deserved.

" They (Coventry) are a very good side, hopefully we'll pull a crowd for that one as well because they are a big team, the lads are looking forward to it. The crowd were big for us today, at times that's what we need, the fans supporting you and all that, it's like an extra man on the pitch. They did well for us today. "
