Robins manager Gary Johnson, who was speaking to Bristol City's Official Website, talked about City's 1-0 win over United this evening, the ex-Yeovil boss talking about the performance of one-time Luton striker Enoch Showumni :

"We weren't going to use the number of games we have played as an excuse before the match so it's best we don't make too much of it now. It wasn't a great display, but sometimes the result is everything. Over a season you are going to get good wins and not so good ones. When we saw the other results it put a smile on our faces. We had the majority of the play in the second half and finished the stronger side.

"We could have been behind at half-time and I wasn't seeing the amount of fight from the players I want. When Enoch Showunmi was injured it might or might not have been deliberate by the Carlisle player (Kevin Gray). But I used it to try and get our lads going. To be fair they responded to what was said at half-time and deserved something out of the game in the end, I told the players I could have changed eight or nine of them but then in the second half the boys went out and gave it all they had.

"His (Showumni's) goals per game record is becoming very good, he is enjoying his football and really flying . We've won three headers in their box through Jamie McCombe, Steve Brooker and finally Enoch, who threw himself in to score. That's the sort of commitment which wins games. We have a great set of lads and they know anything I say to them is said for their own good and that of the club."
